You know what Republicans do during elections? They point out how liberal their Democrat counterpart is. Well no duh, they’re a Democrat! (I know it didn’t always used to be this way, and still isn’t in some places). You know why Republicans can do this? Because America is conservative. It works because they know most people are not liberal. It’s us versus them, and there’s a lot more of them than us (or vice versa depending on your views).

It’s why conservative radio is #1 in the charts. It’s why Fox News has the highest ratings. It’s why evolution is still being debated. It’s why our war budget is more than the other top ten nations combined. It’s why atheists can’t get elected to office. It’s why we have roads and cars instead of trains and trams. It’s why health care is so expensive. It’s why gays and lesbians grow up being ashamed. It’s why education isn’t important. It’s why there is a shrinking middle class. It’s why we are still using oil, and why it is so expensive. It’s why flying is such a pain. It’s why our prisons are overcrowded. It’s why our national budget is a disaster. It’s why corporations have so much power. It’s why people can’t afford their mortgages. It’s why people in other countries don’t like us.

You know I wonder why I even bother to vote, the candidate I back every time loses. Barak Obama doesn’t seem to be doing well against Clinton, who is on the right of Obama.

And it doesn’t matter anyhow. Even if a liberal is elected to office, they represent a majority of conservatives. It will take many generations for things to change if they will ever, or a catastrophe of the size of the Great Depression (the last time liberals really had a mandate). I don’t like labels. I have some ‘conservative’ views about gun ownership, taxes and other issues. I know we don’t fit in nice and neat labels, but in comparison with the rest of this nation, my way is no way. I just shouldn’t get energized about elections anymore. We can’t win.
