“Fortune favors men who dare” or better known “Fortune favors the bold” was spoken by Turnus in Virgil’s Aeneid just before Aeneas pretty much tore the life out of him. I guess fortune didn’t favor that daring man. I wonder how many people who say “Fortune favors the bold” realize that the phrase was uttered by someone killed shortly afterward due to his rash actions.
